We are the first German office furniture manufacturer to exclusively supply office furniture in accordance with the FSC® environmental standard. The FSC® helps to preserve forests and protects the interests of people and the animals that live in or from these forests.

Sustainability Report
Topics such as “suitability for grandchildren” and “sustainability” have always been firmly rooted in the Hammerbacher family business. Values such as environmental protection or employee development are among the pillars of our corporate philosophy. In order to give our customers, suppliers, employees and all other stakeholders an insight into our ecologically and socially sustainable business practices, we have been publishing our commitment in the annual Hammerbacher Sustainability Report since 2021.
The report covers the areas of production, employees, social action, the environment and the most important key figures and targets. The central aspect of the sustainability report is the documentation of the emissions of Hammerbacher GmbH in Neumarkt/OPf., where logistics and administrative activities are carried out, and Hammerbacher SK a.s. in Pukanec/Slovakia, where the majority of the production of the furniture offered by Hammerbacher GmbH is located. The goods traffic between the production plant and the logistics location was also included in the analysis.

Not only the bushes in front of our company headquarters are green. A responsible use of our resources is important to us – on a large scale as well as on a small scale. That is why, for example, the drawer inserts of our pedestals are made of 100% recycled material. When we receive product returns, we reprocess them and reuse damage-free components. We try to minimise waste and if we have to discard something, we separate it.
Since the summer of 2021, we have also been an eco-sponsor of the Landschaftspflegeverband Neumarkt i.d.OPf. e.V. With this partnership, we would like to make an active contribution to ensuring that our home remains worth living in and worth loving.
With our photovoltaic systems we produce more than twice as much energy as we need ourselves. This makes us almost self-sufficient in terms of energy. For example, we heat our production in Slovakia with our own wood waste. When we renovate buildings, we do so energetically.
Experts uncover weaknesses in environmental management and create the basis for a continuous and verifiable improvement process. In this way, we reduce environmental risks and improve our ecological balance sheet in the long term.
